An open books is seen from the bottom with a nearly-empty hourglass between the viewer and the left half of the book. A simple open book is seen, before with is a larger caduceus. A somewhat unorderly collection of seventeen books is seen on a wooden wallmount bookcase. A manual printing press is seen in a compressed position within a frame and with the handle to the left. A simple but elegant wallmount bookshelf holds five books supported by grphyon-shaped bookends. A stack of books is seen, the topmost of which is open and supported by a standing book. Vines are intermingled and a lit candle in a tall holder is positioned to the left. A simple but elegant wallmount bookshelf is seen holding twenty-six books in good order.

A skull without the mandible appear above two crossed long bones. An open, human left eye is seen, including the lids and brow. A wooden barrel is seen from an oblique angle. It is closed, lying on its side and has two metal bands. A wooden chair is seen at an oblique angle with a cushion on the seat rounded legs and an open back. An ornate armchair is seen at an oblique angle with a cushioned seat and back. A fish is seen from its right side oriented horizontally and facing the viewer's right.

Two hands engage in a handshake, reaching across from left and right. The back of the hand on the viewer's left faces the viewer.
